The nineties put the kitchen in its own room, behind its own door. This one stayed there for thirty years.

The brief asked for the opposite: a spacious kitchen with multiple zones, built for hosting. Floor area was found where it hides in plain sight. A built-in dining bench seat replaced the clearance a table and chairs demand, and gave the room back to the cook and the guests.

The details carry the room. Taj Mahal quartzite, chosen for its warmth under the window light. A custom wine rack worked into the joinery. Air-conditioning vents concealed at the top of the cabinetry, so nothing interrupts its line. Comfort you feel and never see.
