The brief arrived with a hotel reference — a specific kind of composed calm, a room that doesn’t try too hard. Our job was to find that feeling in material weight and restraint, not in imitation.

The answer is volume and restraint. Generous ceilings, a natural palette, and finishes chosen to patina rather than date: materials that will look better in twenty years than they do at handover.

Two moments anchor the home. The kitchen island, hand-packed concrete, formed as a single mass. And in the master bathroom, a bathtub carved from solid stone. Neither can be bought off a shelf; both will outlast everyone involved in making them.
